Dramnyen Notation

Overview

Traditional dramnyen music has no written record — when a player passes, their melodies can vanish. This project documents and teaches them through interactive digital notation.

What’s Inside

1

Type numbers 1–7 to compose melodies using the traditional Tibetan scale

2

9 authentic tempo presets spanning courtly Nangma to energetic circle-dance Toeshey

3

Real dramnyen samples recorded by master musician Tenzin Norbu

4

Artistic direction by Techung, one of the most renowned living Tibetan musicians
